Betty Sue (Dobbins) Whiteside

Betty Sue Whiteside, 76. a resident of Port Chester, NY died September 14, 2016. She was born August 20, 1940 in Gadsden, AL. to the late Willie and Odessa lacey Dobbins. She was raised and educated in Alabama by her grandparents Sam and Vera Ivey. and moved to Port Chester at the age of 19.  She was a retired employee of Macy’s Department Store in White Plains, NY. Mrs. Whiteside is survived by her husband Jimmie Whiteside of Port Chester, her beloved children, Michael Dobbins (Michelle) of Centre, Al., Shelia Bolek (Paul) of Sarasota, FL., Eric J. Whiteside (Teresa) of Rye, NY., and Rodney F. Whiteside of Port Chester, NY., brother Willie V. “Shorty” Dobbins, Jr. (Catherine) of Gadsden, AL., grandchildren Mikisha Dobbins, Michael Dobbins, Jr., Raheam Dobbins, Shaem Dobbins, Keishawn Whiteside, Theresa Bray, Jabril E. Whiteside, Amani Whiteside, Ni’jalae Pruitt, Reign Roayalte Whiteside, great grandchildren Niziare Whiteside, Na’im Dobbins, Amari Cooper, Tyler Ackerly, Kayla Whitehead, Aiden Dobbins and Isabelle Dobbins. She was predeceased by her son Anthony Whiteside.  She leaves to cherish her memory loving mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister- in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of family and friends.  She was and will always be the center of her family’s universe. Her legacy will live on through the countless ways she expressed love, kindness and generosity to everyone.  Visitation will be 4-8PM on Wednesday September 21, 2016 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Interment will be private
