Carmela Manette Romanello, 89, a resident of Rye Brook, NY died February 8, 2015. She was born October 22, 1925 in White Plains to the late Marino and Lucrezia Catalina Manette. She was raised and educated in White Plains graduating from White Plains High School in 1943. Mrs. Romanello was the widow of Joseph Romanello who died in 1999. She was a homemaker and a member of the Rye Brook Seniors. Carmela married Joe and they raised their family in Port Chester. She was a strong willed woman and was never afraid to speak her mind.  Carmela was from the era that believed in family traditions. She loved to cook Sunday dinner for her family and anyone else who happened to drop by. Her door was always open and her home was a place for many. She loved to bake and made the best cookies and cakes around. She loved having card games, loved going to the casino and going on trips with the seniors. She loved a good bargain and always knew where to find the best deals in town. Carmela was a traditional Italian mother and her ability to care for family and friends will be cherished. Carmela is survived by her son Daniel J. Romanello, Sr. of Rye Brook, NY, owner of Lea-Rome Excavating Company, daughters Susan Romanello (Michael Caputo, Sr.) of Port Chester, NY and Jane Romanello and husband Robert Romagnoli of Norwalk, CT, sisters Lucrecia Manette and Marion McGowan both of White Plains, NY, grandchildren Kristan Connolly and husband James, Danny Romanello. Jr., Judiann Romanello and Michael Caputo, Jr., and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her brother Anthony Manette and sister Barbara Magaletti. Visitation will be 5-9PM on Wednesday February 11, 2015 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00AM on Thursday February 12, 2015 at Holy Rosary Church Don Bosco Pl. Port Chester, NY. Entombment to follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery Rye Brook, NY. Onlince condolonces may be
