Giuseppe Fama, loving husband and caring husband of Grace Marino of Port Chester, NY passed away on Sunday August 27, 2017 while on vacation with his wife in his birth town of Scilla, Reggio Calabria, Italy. He was born January 2, 1940 in Scilla, Italy to the late Vincenzo and Girolama Caratozzolo Fama.
In January 1966 at the age of 26, Giuseppe came to the United States along with his brother Ugo Fama to join the rest of their family who had moved here from Italy two years before them. After meeting his wife Grace, they were united in marriage on March 24, 1968.
Giuseppe was first employed for a short time with Luxo Lamp and then followed by a lengthier work time with the Brick Layers Union until his final place of employment, SUNY Purchase College for which he remained employed for 24 years.  He and his wife often returned to Scilla during the summer months. He was a very devoted Catholic and often he and Grace joined the Church of Scilla on retreats to various shrines to the Blessed Mother of Jesus.
 He is survived by his loving wife Grace, his three brothers, Santo and his wife Sarah, Ugo and his wife Domenica, and Rocco and his wife Maria, his sister Nina Vita and her husband Dominic and sister in law Catherine Fama the wife of his late and very beloved brother Anthony Fama.  He is also survived by his sister in law Angela (Marino) Papalia and her husband Orazio and brother in law Dominic Marino and his wife Ann Marie, in addition to a great number of nieces and nephews and their children.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10AM on Saturday September 9, 2017 at Saint Paul's Catholic Church Sherwood Avenue Greenwich, CT. Entombment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Mr. Fama may be made to the charity of ones choice.
