Goia Petruzzo (nee: D’Ambrosio), 85, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2017, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Born to Mary and Thomas D’Ambrosio, Goia was raised in the Bronx and Pelham, NY. Goia worked in NYC before marrying her husband of 34 years, Joseph Petruzzo, who passed away in 1993. After raising their 5 daughters, Goia enjoyed a fulfilling career at Lillian Vernon Corporation. Goia was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great friend to many. She will be remembered for her famous “peegee podgee” meals, belly-laughs, sense of humor, and her impeccable sense of style.
Goia leaves behind her daughters; Joanne O’Malley (Kevin), Lisa Vita (Pete), Cara Barnhardt (Steve), Julie Petruzzo, Gina Numme (Chris), and eleven grandchildren; Luke, Nick, Ian, and Shane O’Malley; Leslie and Kelly Barnhardt; Nina and Trevor Blanc; Christopher, Vanessa, and Jordan Numme; her sister Rita Petraglia of Tennessee; her sister-in-law, Emma DeEsso of Larchmont; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
