John V Verrastro

John J. Verrastro, 66, a life long resident of Port Chester died March 10, 2018. He was born February 23, 1952 to the late John and Elizabeth Skovron Verrastro, he was also predeceased by his stepmother Lee Verrastro.  He was raised and educated in Port Chester.  John was the sexton for over 25 years at the Our Lady of Mercy Church in Port Chester. He retired August 2016.  He was a member and past Captain of Fire Patrol and Rescue Company # 1 of the Port Chester Volunteer Fire Department. John is survived by his brother Charles J. Carpentieri and his wife Ann Marie and sister Marie Carlucci and her husband Vincent all of Danbury, CT., and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and cousins.  Visitation will be 4-8PM on Thursday March 15, 2018 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc.  Mass of Christian Burial will be on March 16, 2018 at Our Lady of Mercy Church 260 Westchester Ave. Port Chester, NY. Interment to follow at St. Mary Cemetery Rye Brook, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Fire Patrol & Rescue Co. #1 209 Westchester Ave. Port Chester, NY 10573 or to the American Heart Association.
