Martin Freedman

Martin Freedman, Esq., 91 a former resident of Tappan, NY died February 15, 2017. He was born October 2, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Harry and Rebecca Levine Freedman. He graduated from Long Island Univeristy in Brooklyn and received his law degree from Brooklyn Law School.  He served in the United States Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. Mr. Freedman was a respected attorney in private practice in the Bronx.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.  He was married to the late Betty Longin Freedman who died in 1991. Mr. Freedman is survived by his son Marc Freedman and his wife Debbie of Briarcliff, NY., daughters Rachel Freedman of NYC and Diane Freedman and her significant other Jamie Knuckles of NYC, grandchildren Benjamin Freedman, Juliet Freedman and Chloe Rosenberg. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Freedman. A graveside service will be held 1:00PM on Friday February 17, 2017 at Cedar Park Cemetery 735 Forest Ave. Paramus, NJ. Shiva will be held on Friday after the funeral at Marc Freedman’s home 28 Ingham Rd., Briarcliff, NY. and Saturday from 5-8PM at Marc’s home and on Sunday from 3-7PM at Rachel's home at 555 West 59th Street NYC.
