Pathrose K Devasia

Pathrose K. Devasia, 71, a resident of Rye Brook, died January 8, 2016. He was born October 8, 1944 in Peruva, Kerala, India to the late Peter and Anna Kalamattathil.  He was raised and educated in India. He graduated from  Maharajas College in Ernakulam, Kerala, India in 1967 with a BsC in Chemistry, Math and Physics. He then received his law degree from Government Law College in 1971.  He was admitted to the bar council in Kerala in 1972.  Mr. Devasia was married to Sue “Sumathi” Samuel in Kerala, India on August 3, 1972. He immigrated to the United States in 1974.  He entered the civil service and became a New York State Correction Officer in 1984.  He was assigned to Sing Sing and Taconic Hills Correctional Facilities and retired in 2006 after 22 years.  He was a parishioner of the Corpus Christi Church in Port Chester.  He is survived by his wife Sue “Sumathi” Devasia of Rye Brook, daughters Cynthia Devasia of New York City, NY and Sharon Devasia of Tarrytown, NY. He is also survived by 1 brother and 3 sisters in India. Visitation will be 5-9PM on Tuesday and Wednesday January 12 and 13, 2016 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10AM on Thursday January 14, 2016 at Corpus Christi Christi 136 South Regent St. Port Chester, NY. Interment to follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery Rye, NY.
