Richard E. Kugel, 81, a lifelong resident of Port Chester died April 26, 2015. He was born May 10, 1933 to the late Kenneth and Florence Mazzuli Kugel. He was raised and educated in Port Chester graduating from Port Chester High School in 1951 then graduated from Westchester Community College and received his BS in Chemistry from Fordham University in 1955. He served in the United States Army Reserve. Mr. Kugel was married September 6, 1958 to Roberta Schmeiler at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Port Chester. He was a chemist for 50 years for Stauffer Chemical in Dobbs Ferry, NY. He is survived by his wife Roberta Kugel of Port Chester, NY, sons, Richard M. Kugel and wife Frances of Port Saint Lucie, FL, Michael A. Kugel of Buffalo, NY, Lt. Col. Kevin Kugel and wife Kelly of Seekonk, MA, daughters, Nancy Lovallo of Briarcliff Manor, NY, and Kathy Benvenuti and husband Al of Putnam Valley, NY, grandchildren Christopher and Heather Kugel, Danielle Massey, Matthew Kugel, Andrew Lovallo, Nicole and Michael Benvenuti, brothers, Robert Kugel of Norwalk, CT, and Kenneth Kugel of Doylestown, PA. Visitation will be 4-8PM on Wednesday April 29, 2015 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10AM on Thursday April 30, 2015 at Our Lady of Mercy Church 260 Westchester Ave. Port Chester, NY. Interment to follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery Rye, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Greenwich Hospital Greenwich, CT, Calvary Hospital Bronx, NY or to the charity of one’s choice.
