Rose (Francia) Lucente

Rose A. Lucente, 93, a lifelong resident of Port Chester died January 16, 2015 in her home surrounded by her family where she raised them. She was born August 15, 1921 to the late Dominic and Jennie Virtuoso Francia. She was raised and educated in Port Chester graduating from Port Chester High School in 1939. She then attended the Miller Secretarial School in New York City, and then became a legal secretary for a law firm and then for Conde Nast Publications. She was married to Michael Lucente on September 15, 1947. Mr. Lucente died in 2001. Mrs. Lucente was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was proud of her Italian heritage, a great cook and baker and loved Port Chester.  She also worked at Convent of the Sacred Heart and the Tots Village. She was a lifelong parishioner of the Corpus Christi Church and was a Girl Scout Leader in Port Chester.  Mrs. Lucente is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Rogers of Port Chester, Jenna Huff (Joseph) of Dedham, MA., and Michele Lucente  (Maria Asencio) of Port Chester, grandchildren Tara Tobias, Joseph, Michael and Stephen Huff, great grandchildren Kayla Rose Tobias, Sophia Tobias, Maddie Huff, Joey Huff, Abbey Rose Huff, Justin Orchard, Victoria Huff, Mikey Huff. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her brothers Peter, Frank and Dominic Francia. Visitation will be 5-9PM on Tuesday January 20, 2015 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30AM on Wednesday January 21, 2015 at Corpus Christi Church 136 South Regent St. Port Chester, NY. Interment to follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery Rye Brook, NY.
