William “Duke” A. Santora, 91, a lifelong resident of Port Chester died January 31, 2015. he was born April 6, 1923 in Port Chester to the late Salvatore and Gertrude Mancuso Santora. He graduated from Port Chester High School. He served in the US Army during World War II in the European Theater. He was in the field artillery. Mr. Santora was a retired supervisor for the Lifesavers Company in Port Chester. Uncle Willie as he was affectionately know to many nieces and nephews, took great joy in all sports and passing on his experiences to young family members. He particularly enjoyed horse racing and attending the race track with nephew Peter Tallerico, and was known to many as an astute handicapper. He enjoyed very much going to watch great nephew Jonathan and Peter Tallerico and great nieces Tara Lynn Taddeo and Cami Maffei’s games and plays through the years. Uncle Willie also enjoyed helping niece Mary Tallerico with raising her four children, often taking them to the beach and feeding the ducks and the children loved it and him. He will be missed. He is survived by his sisters Sally Santora and Lucille Acocella of Port Chester and brother Anthony “Duke” Santora and wife Mary Lou of Yorktown, NY. and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his brother James and sisters Josephine Russo, Donata Guilmette and Mildred Stewart. Visitation will be 5-8PM on Tuesday February 3, 2015 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Funeral Service and interment will be private, In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
