Clorinda Donata Agugliaro, 78, a lifelong resident of Port Chester died peacefully on July 17,2019. She was born on August 6, 1941 in Port Chester to the late Gogliardo(Giulio) and Margaret (Varbaro) Agugliaro. Linda was raised in Port Chester and graduated in 1959 from the Academy The Resurrection in Rye. She worked for Hachette Publishing Company and later was employed by AT&T from which she retired after 28 years of service. While at AT&T Linda was a Union Steward who represented and defended the interests of her fellow employees. Surviving Linda are cousins Peter Sileo, Marie (Sileo) Beauregard and her husband Richard, Philip Varbaro and his wife Joyce, Annette Briganti, Francine Romanello, Concetta Fiore and her dear friend Marie Belingo. Music was Linda’s life.She aspired to Julliard. When Linda was sixteen years old she composed a song “Follow Your Heart” which she played on the piano. Linda was a professional pianist with an ear for music which enabled her to hear a song once and then go and play it on the piano. In her year book was written “she’s nimble at the keys”. Linda played the piano at various restaurants. Linda was always the life of the party and a friend to anyone in need offering solace and always ready to fight battles for people who would let her. Her friends were her world. The friends of Gugs (aka Linda) who were faithful, compassionate and loving until Linda’s last breath were: Andrea, Yassmin, Toniann, Karmine, Jamie, Debbie(from Nissan), Mary Lou, Lynne, Laura, Mary, Bill and Gil. Linda’s Memorial Mass will be held 10AM on August 6,2019 at Sacred Heart Church, 95 Henry Street, Greenwich, CT. In lieu of flowers please have Masses said for her or make a donation to the American Diabetes Association.
