Dominic Anthony Minnitte, 77, passed away on April 22, 2019 with his family by his side. He was the son of the late Dominick and Nina (Marino) Minnitte born May 7, 1941. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Barbara (Vishinski) Minnitte, his children Dina Minnitte Weaver, Dominic T. Minnitte and two grandsons. He loved you all. He greatly mourned the passing of his parents, his daughter, Dyann Minnitte on April 23, 1972 and his dear brother-in-law, Robert Rinaldi.
A lifelong Port Chester/Rye Brook resident, Dom attended Holy Rosary School in Port Chester, Stepinac High School (’59), and graduated from Iona College (’63). He was a Staff Sergeant in the Air National Guard 1963-1969. He was one of the original members of the TABLE 10 Club founded in 1976.
He excelled in a 40 year career in the pharmaceutical field beginning with Wyeth Labs in 1966 until his retirement in 2006. Dom loved to hunt and fish from a young age until he was no longer able. He loved to travel in his motorhome across the U.S. He built his second home in Wilmington, North Carolina where he kept his boat to enjoy with family and friends. Wherever Dom was, there would be a party, food, fun, and sometimes a ruckus always caused by him to the pleasure of all.
In addition to his immediate family, Dom is survived by his best friends and devoted brother and sisters-in-laws Stanley and Dianne Vishinski of Patterson and Maryann Rinaldi of West Harrison, his special niece, Jessica Rinaldi, who was always there for him, his nephews Stan Vishinski Jr. and family, Ken (Lori) Vishinski and family, and Rob (Lisa) Rinaldi. As an only child, he grew up with his Bruno, Marino, and Romanello first cousins as a close-knit family. He sadly leaves his loving dogs and constant companions for the last 11 years Gizmo, Darla, and Wolf.
Thank you to the Greenwich Hospital ICU doctors and staff that cared for him these past few weeks. He was in such good hands. A special thank you to his caring and devoted friends who helped him live and enjoy his life to the fullest; Don Caturano, Kris Pollicina, Janessa Plummer and Craig Saunders. You know what you were to him. He loved you all.
