Aunt Donna was constantly thinking of me and the girls. My home is full of gifts from her, my t-shirt blanket, overnight bag and countless silly pens. I will miss her questions about boys and whether we had eaten dinner. I miss miss her cookies at Christmas. But mostly I will miss Aunt Donna's kindness and spirt. She is truly an unforgettable woman and I am thankful that she played such a wonderful role in my life. I love you, Aunt Donna.

Donna was an extraordinary woman. It is hard to find just one word to describe her because she was a strong woman which meant sometimes keeping her emotions to herself, but above all she was selfless. She always thought about everyone else and put others first--family, friends, even strangers. When she was sick in the hospital two weeks ago, the nurse walked in the room in the afternoon and the first thing Aunt Donna asked was if she had time for lunch break. The nurse was surprised by the remark, but to all of us who knew her, that was just her way. Selfless even in sickness.
Aunt Donna was a special person to me. She, along with my grandmother, raised my brother Kevin and I after the death of my mother. To take and raise her sister's children was one of the first selfless acts that Aunt Donna did for me. She gave me all the tools that I needed to be a successful and happy woman.
Despite the loss of so many of her family members and friends, she loved life. She found joy in so many things. As I cope with the grief of her death, I reflect on this aspect of her. Her enthusiasm and excitement for life should remind us of just how precious life is and how we should enjoy it.
Aunt Donna, I will miss you so much.

Heaven has gained a new angel. As a member of the property management team for the apartment community where Donna lived in Oviedo, Florida for many years, I knew her as the first person to bring in bags and boxes of goods for each food drive or help us absolutely fill the bin for Toys for Tots each year. She always had a smile and was grateful for each day no matter what was going on in her life. A true example of how we should all strive to live and treat one another. God Bless your family, Donna, you will be missed.
