Ethel Glen (Boyd) James

Ethel Glen James a resident of Port Chester for over 60 years passed away November 4, 2019 at the age of 89. She was born March 28, 1930 in Buffalo New York the daughter of the late Joseph and Pattie Carter Boyd. She was raised and educated in North Carolina and Philadelphia, Pa. graduating from Simon Gratz High School in Philadelphia in 1948.   Mrs. James was the widow of Mr. Robert James, Jr. who passed in 2003.  Mrs. James was worked for the City of Rye School System for many years in the lunch room.  She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Greenwich since 1949. She was active in the Junior and Senior Choir, the Sunday school, an original member of the nurses unit, altar guild, building committee, director of the junior ushers and a current trustee.  Mrs. James is survived by her beloved children, Robert James, III of Stamford, CT., Brian K. James of Port Chester, Lisa James Owens of Stratford, CT. 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and many other family and friends. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by her daughter Linda James and brothers Herbert, George, Henry, and Robert Boyd and sister Mary Elizabeth Brooks.  Visitation will be 4-8PM on Friday November 8, 2019 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. 40 Leicester St. Port Chester, NY. Funeral Service will be held 9:00AM on Saturday November 9, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Greenwich 10 Northfield Street Greenwich, CT. Interment to follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery North Street Rye, NY.
