Eugene J. "Jimmy" Chimblo, Sr.,  97, a resident of Englewood, Fl. and Greenwich, CT., was welcomed to heaven on April 22, 2017. He was born March 25, 1920 in Cos Cob, CT., to the late Dominick and Rosaria Ceci Chimblo.  He was raised and educated in Cos Cob. Mr. Chimblo served in the United States Navy during World War II as a carpenter in Sheeps Head Bay, NY.  He was married October 8, 1966 to Barbara Monell in Port Chester, NY. He was a partner in Chimblo Brothers Construction Co. in Greenwich, CT.   They built different town landmarks in Greenwich including Saint Catherine's of Sienna Church, Saint Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Chesebrough Ponds, Inc., and the remodel of Avco Corporation. His greatest pleasure was riding his John Deere tractor and mowing his lawn and getting his hands dirty gardening. Jim loved to cook and loved to throw elaborate gatherings.  He was a member of the Greenwich Knights of Columbus, Byram Rotary and the Elks in Englewood, FL.  Mr. Chimblo is survived by his wife Barbara Chimblo, sons, Eugene J. Chimblo, Jr. and wife Lisa and Arthur W. Chimblo and wife Doreen all of Greenwich, CT.,  daughter Jean McHale and husband Jack of Sarasota, FL., grandchildren, Eugene J. Chimblo, III, Chelsea C. Chimblo,  Gillian R. Chimblo, James W. Chimblo, Alan Johnson, Wayne Jansen and Christopher Gibson,  great grandchildren Ashlyn Johnson, Tyler Johnson and Corina Jansen. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his son Dominick J. Chimblo, brothers Joseph, Anthony, Gus, Frank, Milton & August Chimblo, sister Rose Chimblo Cece.  Visitation will be 4-8PM on Thursday April 27, 2017 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc.  Mass of Christian Burial will be    on Friday April 28, 2017 at Saint Catherine of Sienna Church 4 Riverside Ave. Riverside, CT. Interment to follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery North St. Greenwich, CT. Memorial donations may be made to the Greenwich Boys and Girls Club 4 Horseneck Lane Greenwich, CT  06830 www.bgcg.org
