Irene Byington,93, of Austin, TX and formerly a long time resident of Port Chester died June 28, 2018. She was born January 1, 1925 in Port Chester to the late Stanley and Nellie Ciesla Sury. She was raised and educated in Port Chester. Irene was the widow of John Byington who died February 21, 2015.  She was a clerk for the Village of Port Chester Parking Violations with the Port Chester Police Department and previously worked at R.B. & W. Nut Bolt Factory and Empire Brush Co. in Port Chester. Mrs. Byington spent the last 2&1/2 years at the Brookdale Assisted Living in Austin, TX.  Her fondest memories were of Port Chester and her friends, her home on Halstead Ave. and her work at the police department. She loved all kinds of animals but especially birds and dogs.  She is survived by her children John Byington and wife Laurie of Austin, TX. and Lorraine Jankowski and husband Michael of Halcott Center, NY, grandchildren Johnny Byington of Austin, TX., Nancy Guenthner of Round Rock, TX. and Vanessa Byington of Medford, NJ., great grandchildren Nicholas , Grace and Emily Guenthner of Round Rock, TX.  Besides her husband she was predeceased by her brothers Stanly and John Sury and sisters Elenor Elser and Josephine Payne.  Funeral Service will be 11AM on Thursday July 5, 2018 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc.  Interment to follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook, NY. Memorial donations in memory of Mrs. Byington should be made to the ASPCA.
