John M. Grosse

John M. Grosse, a lifelong resident of the Village of Port Chester, NY died on January 2, 2019, at the age of 94. He was born on July 10, 1924, to the late Domenico Grosse and Domenica Marie Pace Grosse. Mr. Grosse graduated from Port Chester High School and received an associate degree in criminal justice from Westchester Community College. He served in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1946. He joined the Port Chester Police Department on May 5, 1952, and was the Chief of Police from 1976 until his retirement in 1989. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and a member of the Elks Club and Rotary Club. He was an exceptional golfer, talented photographer and accomplished marksman.He married Victoria Cicchiello on October 26, 1947.  He is survived by his wife, Victoria Cicchiello Grosse, his son Ronald L. Grosse (Michele), grandchildren Erin Grosse (Jose Aviles) and McKinley Grosse Gregory (Thomas), two great-grandchildren, Analee Aviles and Thomas Gregory. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.Mr. Grosse was predeceased by his sisters, Jennie Pasquale, Carmel Lovallo, Diane Fidelibus and Anne Luongo.Mr. Grosse was devoted to his family, his faith and his service to the Village of Port Chester. His family was blessed to have him in their lives for so many years and he will continue to live in their hearts all the days of their lives.

Visitation will be 4-8PM on Sunday January 6, 2019 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. a Mass of Christian Burial will be 10AM on Monday January 7, 2019 at Parish of St. John Boco (Corpus Christi) 136 South Regent St. Port Chester, NY.
