Madelyn Marie Meagher Trepp passed away peacefully at home on October 7, 2018. A 3rd generation San Franciscan, Madelyn was born on July 2, 1926, to Madeline Curtin Cregan and Joseph Edward Meagher. Madelyn attended St. Monica's and Star of the Sea Catholic schools in San Francisco. While studying for two years at Dominican College in San Rafael, CA, Madelyn met her future husband, William Joseph Trepp, on a blind date in San Francisco. She then transferred to Rosemont College in PA and graduated with a BA in 1948. Madelyn and Bill married two months later.
Madelyn worked for Pacific Fruit Express in San Francisco, the Greenwich (CT) Police Department, and for the family business, Trepp's Flowers in Greenwich, CT. She was the office manager at Trepp's until her retirement. She loved to garden (roses especially) and was a member of the Byram Garden Club and the Rye Brook Senior Center. She studied creative writing at Manhattanville College.
An avid golfer, Madelyn belonged to Tamarack Country Club. One of her favorite things was to explore New York City with family and friends. Her children grew up loving train rides into Grand Central Terminal, seeing museums, the sights, and dining at Tavern on the Green in Central Park.
Madelyn is survived by her son William Jeffrey Trepp (Joanne McHocko), daughters Marlene Rowland (Dave), and Alice E. Trepp, granddaughter Jen Rowland (Matt Hogan), sister-in-laws Judith Della Valle Trepp, Frances Buschman Meagher, and many Meagher and Trepp cousins.
She is predeceased by her husband, her brother Robert Joseph Meagher, and her sister Catherine (Kay) Meagher.
Her family wishes to thank her loving care givers Senny, Lupita, Leza and Janet.
