Mario Papa

Mario Papa, 84, a resident of Port Chester, NY.and formerly of the Bronx, died December 20, 2017. He was born March 24, 1933 in Selvacava, Provence of Frosinone, Italy to the late Lorenzo and Maria Paliotta Papa. He was raised and educated in Italy and immigrated to the United States at the age of 17. He was married to Maria Lucisano  September 22, 1968 at Our Lady of Mercy Church. He was a retired pattern maker in the garment district.  Mr. Papa was a parishioner of the Our Lady of Mercy Church and a member of the Selvacava Society.  He is survived by his wife Maria Papa of Port Chester, son Lorenzo Papa of Hoboken, NJ., daughter Laura Shopinski and husband David of West Harrison, NY., sister Gina Casale of Greenburgh, NY., grandsons Jacob and Paul Shopinski of West Harrison, NY.  He was predeceased by his brother Pasquale Papa and sister Pasqualina Casale.  Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8PM on Friday December 22, 2017 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30AM on Saturday December 23, 2017 at Parish of St. John Bosco (Our Lady Of Mercy) 260 Westchester Ave. Port Chester, NY. Entombment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook, NY. Memorial donations may be made to Lustgarten Foundation or Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
