Mary M (Fazekas) Haeger

Mary M. Haeger, 89, a resident of Rye Brook died September 20, 2018. She was born July 11, 1929 in Port Chester to the late Julius and Elizabeth Pecsi Fazekas. She was raised and educated in Port Chester graduating from Port Chester High School, she went on to graduate from New York Foundling Hospital School of Baby Nursing.  She was married June 2, 1956 to Herbert C. Haeger at the Our Lady of Mercy Church. Mr. Haeger died May 24, 2009.  Mrs. Haeger was a parishioner of the Our Lady of Mercy Church in Port Chester and a member of the church's Seton Circle. She was also a member of the Rye Brook Seniors. Mrs. Haeger and her husband were active members of the Port Chester Yacht Club.  Mrs. Haeger was a registered nurse at United Hospital and for Dr. Gundy in Rye, NY.  She is survived by her nieces and nephews Harold Cook and wife Donna of Middletown, NJ., Richard Cook and wife Paula of Deerfield Beach, FL., Julius Fazekas and wife Rita of Blaine, TN., Mary Fazekas and husband Dave Tomczak of Petaluma, CA. and Elizabeth Riddle of Whitsett, NC. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her brother Julius Fazekas and sister Elizabeth Cook. Visitation will be 4-8PM on Monday September 24, 2018 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30AM on Tuesday September 25, 2018 at Parish of St. John Bosco ( Our Lady of Mercy) 260 Westchester Ave. Port Chester, NY. Interment to follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery Rye, NY.
