Sophie T. (Stawicki) Kancir

Sophie T. Kancir, 89, a lifelong resident of Port Chester died December 11, 2018. She was born October 10, 1929 in Port Chester to the late Anthony and Sophie Rupisyewsko Stawicki. She graduated from Port Chester High School in 1947.  She was the owner and operator of Bob's Deli with her husband, Robert A., on Willett Ave. in Port Chester. She was a parishioner of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Port Chester and was active with the Class of 1947 Reunion Committee.  Mrs. Kancir is survived by her children, Robert B. Kancir and his wife Sue of Bridgewater Corners, VT., Andrew Kancir and wife Marie of Stamford, CT., and Theresa Stassi and husband Joseph of Happauge, NY. grandchildren Joseph Stassi, Brian Stassi, Kevin Stassi and Kimberly Kancir, great grandchildren, Cole Stassi, Mason Stassi, Steven Stassi, Summer  Stassi, Jake  Stassi, Dylan  Stassi and Christian Stassi. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her brothers and sisters Raymond Stawicki, John Stawicki, Leo Stawicki, Francis Dyer, Rose Skrzypczak and Mary Mateycik.  Funeral Services are private. Memorial donations in memory of Mrs. Kancir may be made to Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital Memphis, TN
