Agnes DeRose Messina, 84, a resident of Port Chester died July 9, 2021. She was born April 17, 1937 in Astoria NY to the late John and Constance Bartolotta DeRose. She was raised and educated in Queens and graduated from Mount Saint Vincent's College with her Bachelor and Masters Degree. She was a teacher for 37 years with the Port Chester Public Schools having taught at Kennedy School, Horton School and Park Avenue School. She retired in 2000. She was a parishioner of the Our Lady of Mercy Church in Port Chester and volunteered with the American Red Cross and the King Street Nursing Home. She is survived by her son Philip Messina and his wife Stacy of LaGrangeville, NY., granddaughter Cassandra Rainbolt and her husband Robert of Poughkeepsie, NY and brother Dr. Joseph DeRose and his wife Patricia of Manhasset, NY.
A memorial gathering will be held from 4-7PM on Monday July 26, 2021 at the Craft Memorial Home, Inc.
In lieu of flowers in memory of Agnes the family request donations of school supplies which will be given to the Sharing Shelf Backpack Program for children. School supplies may be brought to the funeral home
