Alan Minoru Arita

Alan Minoru Arita, 78, a resident of Bedford, NY and formerly of Port Chester, NY died September 12, 2024. He was born April 6, 1946 in Queens, NY to the late Minoru and Miyoko Taki Arita. Mr. Arita was raised and educated in Port Chester graduating from Port Chester High School in 1964.  He went on to serve in the United States Army from 1968-1969. He served in Vietnam and received 1 Bronze Star and 2 Army Commendations.

Mr. Arita was an executive for the IBM Corporation in Armonk, NY. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Eastham/Orleans Cape Cod Elks Club.

Mr. Arita is survived by his devoted wife Eleanor Tropeano Arita of Bedford, NY., his beloved sons Robert Arita of Kauai, Hawaii, Jonathan Arita of Montauk, NY and Richard Arita, Sr. and his wife Krystin Moonan of Ridgefield, CT., brother Richard Arita and his wife Sherry of Sommers, NY., sister Sandra Dunigan and her husband Chris of Rye Brook, NY., grandchildren Elijah Arita , Miyoko Arita, Richard Arita, Jr., Kaia Arita, Margaret Arita and Addison Arita.  Mr. Arita was predeceased by his brother Robert Arita.

Visitation will be 4-8PM on Monday September 23, 2024 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc.  Funeral Service will be 1:00PM on Tuesday September 24, 2024 at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Kensico Cemetery Valhalla, NY.
