Amy Munguia Obituary

Our beloved Amy Josabeth Munguia, a resident of Port Chester, NY, died unexpectedly on February 10, 2026, at the age of 21. She was born on March 26, 2004, in Sleepy Hollow, NY, to Emir Munguia and Belkis Campos Tyler.

Amy was raised and educated in Port Chester, attending John F. Kennedy Elementary School and Port Chester Middle School. She also attended Port Chester High School, where she was a part of the track & field team. Amy graduated in 2022 with honors.

She continued her education at SUNY Purchase College, where she was studying to major in health science. She also participated in the college Lacrosse team.

Amy was an active member of her church, Jehova Es Mi Pastor, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for the children of her congregation and also in the worship team.

Amy was currently serving with the United States Army Reserve in Connecticut as a Private 1st Class. Amy made many connections with her fellow battle buddies who remember her for her light, smile, courage, and fiery personality.  Amy aspired to be a chaplain in the Army so she could share the gospel and her love of Jesus.

Recently, she was employed by Allied Universal Security in White Plains, NY. This was a new employment opportunity she was excited to be a part of.

Amy will forever be a shining light in the darkness. While Amy lived, many were saved through her love of Jesus and the desire to share the gospel. Even in death, she will continue to impact and win more lives for Jesus. We are grateful for her service, sacrifice, and her dedication to those around her.

She is survived by her parents, her stepfather Bruce Tyler, her older brother Jason Munguia, her younger sisters Brianna Tyler and Bridget Tyler, and her maternal grandfather Andres Campos.

“I desire change, not only for myself but for all who are in my life, that they may also see change in their lives/lifestyle (in a positive, healthy, and impactful way). May God bless us, our journey, and future.”
