RYE BROOK, NY – On Wednesday morning, January 10, Antoinette Marie Tolentino Sudol passed peacefully at the Fairfield Hospice House in Stamford, Connecticut. She had celebrated her 90th Birthday on August 14, 2023.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 3 at 11:00 am at the Craft Memorial Home in Port Chester, New York. A time for visitation by family members and friends will be held prior to the funeral service, beginning at 10:00 am.
Toni, as she was also known, was a resident of Rye Brook, New York. Born on August 14, 1933 in Port Chester, she was the second child of Elizabeth Rossi Tolentino and Nicholas Tolentino. Her brother, Joseph, died in 1969; and, she also had a sister, Josephine.
A 1951 honors graduate of Port Chester High School, Toni joined the Reciprocal Managers insurance company in Port Chester following graduation and served as an executive secretary. Later, she held an administrative position at S&H Uniforms in White Plains, New York.
She was a member of Corpus Christi Church her whole life, until the parish was closed by the Archdiocese. Antoinette’s father was one of the many men in the local community who built Corpus Christi Church in the 1920s. In recent years, Antoinette attended our Lady of Mercy in Port Chester.
Throughout her life, Toni enjoyed the love of her family and always found special ways to let her family know that she loved them dearly. She is survived by her daughter, Marybeth, her sons, Scott and Ted, and her daughter-in-law, Jill; her five grandchildren, Allison, Lindsey, Brendan, Nicole, and Claire; her nine great-grandchildren, Riley, Adrian, Sidney, Cassidy, Chase, Barrett, Lincoln, Owen, and Caylana; her niece Elissa and nephew Tony, and her great nieces, Jacqueline and Alexa; her first cousins, Pammy, Bobby, Carol, and Joe, and many other cousins.
The story that is well-known by all who knew Toni is the story of her relationship with her daughter, Marybeth. For the past 55 years, she dedicated her life to the care of Marybeth’s special needs. Over time, the two of them were inseparable partners, and each contributed to the care of the other in one way or another. Whether grocery shopping, or attending to doctors’ appointments, visiting family members, or having lunch with friends, Toni and Marybeth would always travel together. Through all their experiences together, Toni steadfastly created opportunities to give Marybeth the very best a mom could offer her daughter. And now, Toni will continue to watch over Marybeth as an angel above.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to offer material tributes to do so, in Antoinette’s memory, by
donations to a very special place that offered her wonderful and loving care during her time there: the Fairfield County Hospice House, located at One Den Road, Stamford, Connecticut 06902; or, by planting a tree in Antoinette’s memory.
