Antonia Pennella-Mastrogiacomo

Antonietta “Antonia” Pennella-Mastrogiacomo93,, long time resident of Port Chester, NY passed away in her sleep on Saturday, April 18, 2020.

Antonia was born in Morra De Sanctis (Italy) on October 11, 1926. She grew up on a farm and continued the farming lifestyle after marrying her husband Amerigo Pennella in 1949 and had four children (Mario, Pietro, Giuessepina and Rocco). Sadly, Antonia lost her husband, Amerigo, from complications due to asthma in 1960.
She came to the United States in 1972 and remarried (Angelo Mastrogiacomo). Antonia was adored by her family and loved seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always made sure to have ten dollars and cookies or candy for her great grandchildren when they visited.
Antonia is predeceased by her brother Pasquale, sister Angelina and second husband Angelo. She is survived by her three sisters, Vincenza Caputo (Frank), Gerarda Grande (Benito) and Alessandra, her four children, Mario Pennella (Lucia), Pietro Pennella (Caterina), Giuessepina Verdiani (Libertario), Rocco Pennella (Domenica), grandchildren Amerigo Pennella (Sara), Elvira Verdiani (Remo), Amerigo Pennella (Giulia), Alessando Verdiani (Linda), Antonietta Monteleone (Salvatore), Stephanie Lauro (Christopher), Kristen Sandalo (Domenico) and great grandchildren Iacopo, Tommaso, Emma, Allison, Luciano, Sophia, Michaela, Dominic and Gabriel.
Antonia loved to pray to her favorite saint, Saint Rocco, who was the protective saint of her village when she was a child.
