Barbara J (Havelka) Piper

Barbara J. Piper, 81, a resident of Dover Plains, NY and formerly a longtime resident of Port Chester, NY died January 28, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born August 27, 1940 in Port Chester to the late Charles H. and Frances Salkoski Havelka. Barbara was raised and educated in Port Chester graduating from Port Chester High School in 1958. She was married June 7, 1959 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Port Chester, NY to Ronald W. Piper.  Mrs. Piper was a registrar for the Greenwich Hospital in Greenwich, CT.  She was a parishioner of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Port Chester. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Barbara. Barbara could be found by her garden, playing crossword puzzles or spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Piper is survived by her husband Ronald W. Piper, Sr. of Dover Plains, NY., children, Ronald W. Piper, Jr. and wife Christine of Copake, NY., Robert Piper and wife Brenda of Copake, NY., Richard Piper and wife Debra of Greenwich, CT., and Pamela Piper and life partner Joseph Bellofatto of Copake, NY., Grandchildren Matthew, Joshua, Alexa, Ricky, Jr., Jeana, Anna, Ronald, III., and Stephen, brother Stephen Havelka and sister-in-law Paula of Brant Beach, NJ and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Charles Havelka and sister-in-law Carol. The family would like to extend their love and thanks to her wonderful caregivers, Sally, Kim, Ann, and Liz. She also leaves behind her beloved cat Cali. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12 Noon on Wednesday February 2, 2022 at Saint Paul's RC Church 84 Sherwood Ave. Greenwich, CT. Interment to follow at Putnam Cemetery Greenwich, CT.  There will be no visitation.  Memorial donations in memory of Mrs. Piper may be made to the Hudson Valley Hospice 80 Washington St. Suite 204 Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 www.hvhospice.org
