Carol Truance, 77, a lifelong resident of Port Chester passed away October 8, 2022. She was born March 15, 1945 in Port Chester to the late Carl Rasmussen and Nancy Tannone and predeceased by her brother Joseph "Cappy" Rasmussen. Carol was the widow of Charles A.Truance who died March 11, 2015. She graduated from Saint Mary's Grammar School (Our Lady of Mercy) and from Resurrection Academy in Rye, NY in 1963. Carol was the dedicated Deputy Tax Receiver for the Town of Rye where she has been employed for 34 years. It was her personal mission to provide the best service to the people of the Town of Rye. She was the President of the Westmore Twigs of United Hospital, an active member of the Port Chester Salvation Army and the Port Chester Lions Club. Carol is survived by her children Carl Truance and Christie Truance both of Port Chester, NY. In her early years, Carol was a member of the National Baton Association, competing throughout NYS. Carol was dedicated to her job and community. She made personal sacrifices for her family whom she lived life for. Carol was admired, loved, and respected by all who knew her.
A Memorial Service will be held on October 22, 2022 at 11AM at Harvest Time Church 1338 King Street Greenwich, CT 06831
