Curtis J. Westerman, 68, a longtime resident of Port Chester died January 15, 2022. He was born February 16, 1953 in Greenwich, Ct. to the late Phillip and Nancy Carpentieri Westerman. He was raised and educated in Rye Neck graduating from Rye Neck High School in 1971. Curtis served in the United States Marine Corps. He was married January 14, 1984 at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Port Chester to Catherine Niznik. Curtis was a retired x-ray technician.
Curtis was the type of man that left an impression on anyone he met. He was kind and caring and would always tell others to “take it easy”. He would always greet you with a smile and a one of a kind laugh. He loved star gazing, photography and taking frequent cat naps with his kitties. His love for animals went above and beyond. He spent most mornings taking care of the stray cats around Port Chester. He had such a good heart; a nurturing heart.
His pride was in his children, his twin girls, watching them grow into adulthood and follow their passions. And his greatest joy was in living his life with his soulmate, his loving wife for 38 years. Never was there a love so innate and so forgiving and so beyond words.
He is survived by his devoted wife Catherine Westerman of Port Chester, his beloved twin daughters Jessica Westerman of Port Chester, NY and Sarah "Minkie" Westerman of Charlotte, NC, brother Phillip Westerman (Marion) of Boca Raton, Fl., sister Nancy Tumm (Billy) of Mamaroneck, NY., godson Algernon Faust of Port Chester, NY., Uncle Fred Westerman of Virginia, Aunt Frances Westerman of Greenwich, CT. and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be 4-8PM on Thursday January 20, 2022 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Mass of Christian burial will be 10AM on Friday January 21, 2022 at Sacred Heart Church 95 Henry St. Greenwich, CT., Interment to follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery Rye, NY.
