Delia Eduvina Galvez

Delia Eduvina Galvez, 98, a resident of Port Chester, NY died January 18, 2022. She was born on February 1, 1923 in Doñihue, Chile to the late Juan Ramon and Berta Peralta Galvez and was raised by her loving grandparents, the late Maria del Transito Carrera Viera and Jacinto Peralta and educated in Chile.  She immigrated to the United States in 1974 and became a proud US Citizen in 1984. 

Mrs. Galvez was a homemaker and local volunteer.  She was a wonderful cook, loved to garden and was an avid crocheter.  She was also larger than life, strong, brave, independent and capable of anything.  She taught her family that regardless of what happens, one must never give up. 

She was the widow of Marcos Gallegos who died in 1971.  Mrs. Galvez is survived by her devoted children, Jorge Gallegos and his wife Ana Luisa of Port Chester, NY., Maria Cristina Pimentel and her husband Raul of Port Chester, NY and Ana Maria Gallegos and her husband Fernando Carbone of Santiago, Chile, grandchildren Constanza Carbone of Santiago, Chile, Raul Pimentel and his wife Rebecca of Port Chester, NY., Ana Maria Gallegos-Maxwell and her husband Tom of Scarsdale, NY., and Daniel Gallegos of White Plains, NY., great-grandchildren Estella Perrone, Jackson Pimentel, Scarlett Pimentel, Eliana Maxwell, Thomas Maxwell, Emma Mahaluf and Elisa Mahaluf. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her granddaughter Carolina Carbone who is waiting for her with open arms.  A Memorial Service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Craft Memorial Home in Port Chester, NY.
