Domenico Lagana

Domenico Lagana, 94, a longtime resident of Port Chester, NY died August 14, 2024. He was born January 4, 1930 in Scillia, Reggio, Calabria, Italy to the late Pasquale and Marianna Nicolo Lagana. He was raised and educated in Italy. Mr. Lagana was married to Rosa Caratozzolo on November 27, 1955 in Italy.  Mrs. Lagana died August 22, 2018.  Mr. Lagana and his family immigrated to the United States in 1966 and settled in Port Chester.

He was a baker for Arnolds Bakery.  He was a parishioner of the Corpus Christi Church in Port Chester. Mr. Lagana was a member of the Caridi Club in Port Chester. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed playing cards and word puzzles. He was very social and also enjoyed watching soccer and watching Italian shows on TV.

He is survived by his son Frank Lagana and his wife Paula of Stamford, CT., and daughter Mary Anne Veltri of Port Chester, NY., grandchildren Frankie Lagana, Jennifer Lagana, Vinny Veltri, Rosemarie Veltri and Angelina Lagana-Guzman.

Besides his wife he was predeceased by his son Pasquale Lagana in 2004 and his brothers Santo Lagana, Rocco Lagana and Anthony Lagana and sister Maria Pirrotta.

Visitation will be 4-8PM on Sunday August 18, 2024 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10AM on Monday August 19, 2024 at Parish of Saint John Bosco (Corpus Christi Church) 136 South Regent St. Port Chester, NY. Entombment to follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook, NY
