Doris L. Kavanaugh, 94, a longtime resident of Rye Brook passed away November 9, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. She was born October 18, 1927 in Port Chester to the late Chester and Nora Coffey Bean. She was raised and educated in Port Chester graduating from Port Chester High School in 1945. She was married to Thomas C. Kavanaugh on November 6, 1948 at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Port Chester. Mr. Kavanaugh died July 14, 2000. Mrs. Kavanaugh was a secretary for Ridge Street Nursery School in Rye Brook. She was a parishioner of the Our Lady of Mercy Church and was active in the Mothers Club and the Seton Circle. Mrs. Kavanaugh is survived by her devoted children Thomas Kavanaugh of Rye Brook, NY., Kerry Davidson of Rye Brook, NY. and Kevin Kavanaugh and his partner Ivan of Norwalk, Ct., grandchildren James Davidson and Bobbie Carter.
She was predeceased by her daughter Susan Kavanaugh.
Visitation will be 9am to 11am on Friday November 12, 2021 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Funeral Service will follow at 11am at the funeral home. Interment Saint Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook, NY.
Memorial donations in memory of Mrs. Kavanaugh may be made to the Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
