Dorothy Winters, 96, a resident of Georgetown, DE and formerly of Port Chester, NY and Bronx, NY, died peacefully on August 8, 2021. She was born in Buffalo, NY on September 22, 1924 to the late Robert and Nellie Lawrence. Dorothy was a devoted homemaker for her entire married life. While raising her children in the Bronx, she was known as the fun Mom, who always welcomed the neighborhood kids to visit. She loved going on picnics every weekend during the summer and taking vacations to upstate New York. She would happily spend endless hours preparing food and packing for these trips. In later years, Dorothy moved to Port Chester and lived with her daughter Stephanie. There she joined the Port Chester Senior Center and attended almost daily. She especially loved playing Bingo, going on trips with the center, and seeing the friends she made there. She was a great Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma who lovingly made many sacrifices for her children. We will miss her so much. Dorothy is survived by her son Richard Winters and his wife Connie, daughter Stephanie Pagliughi and her husband Al, Grandchildren Richard M. Winters, Scott Winters, Mari (Pagliughi) Lee, Matthew Pagliughi and David Pagliughi, and Great Grandchildren Logan and Isabelle Pagliughi, Nicolette, Ari and Troy Winters and Sawyer Lee. She was predeceased by her husband Fabian in 1998 and several brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be 8:30AM-9:30AM on Saturday August 28, 2021 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10AM at Sacred Heart Church 95 Henry St. Greenwich, CT
Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Valhalla, NY
