Dr. Joseph H Herson, MD

Dr. Joseph H. Herson, MD, 93, a resident of New York City died September 17, 2019. He was born December 15, 1925 in Brooklyn to the late Barnett and Frieda Jaffe Herson. He was raised and educated in New York. He served in the United States Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He graduated from UCLA with a BS in Zoology and then graduated from University of Zurich with his medical degree.  Dr. Herson was Chief of Psychiatry at Metropolitan Correctional facility in New York City.  He is survived by his children George Herson and wife Mabel of Stamford, CT., Thomas Herson and wife Beverly of Grand Ledge, MI., and Susan Herson, MD of Corning, NY. 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers Irving and Mickey Herson and sister Selma Cahn.  The family will receive visitors from 6-7PM on Friday September 20, 2019 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Funeral Services will follow at 7PM. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation
