Elizabeth Morganti Obituary


Elizabeth Morganti, 97, a lifelong resident of Port Chester died March 28, 2020. She was born September 16, 1922 in Port Chester to the late Phillip and Elizabeth Murray Brigante. She was raised and educated in Port Chester graduating from Port Chester High School in 1940.  Elizabeth was married October 2, 1943 at Holy Rosary Church in Port Chester to John Morganti. Mr. Morganti died April 6, 2001.  She was an administrative assistant at the New York Telephone Co. She was a member of Local 1103 and the Pioneers Club. Mrs. Morganti was also a member of the Knitting Club at Greenwich Hospital. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother and an avid reader.  Mrs. Morganti is survived by her beloved son Richard Morganti and his wife Patricia of Brewster, NY, her loving grandson Robert Morganti and his wife Meaghan and their children Brooks, Kellan and Violet.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Besides her husband she was predeceased by her brother Frank "Sonny" Brigante and sisters Helen Valvano and Mary Ribuffo.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
Due to the current COVID-19 Pandemic all funeral services are private. A memorial Mass celebrating Mrs. Morganti will be announced at a later date.
