Emil B Ravenda, Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that the Ravenda family announce the passing of Emil Benedict Ravenda, Jr., 89, a resident of Bethel, CT.  and formerly of Port Chester, NY who died May 9, 2025 at the Danbury Hospital.   He was born April 2, 1936 in Port Chester, NY to the late Emil B. Ravenda, Sr. and Lucy Markell Ravenda. He was predeceased by his brother Daniel Ravenda. He was raised and educated in Port Chester,  graduating from Our Lady of Mercy Grammar School and ArchBishop Stepinac High School in 1955. He received his Bachelors of Science Degree in chemical engineering from the Indiana Institute of Technology in 1960. He later received his MBA from the University of Connecticut in 1970.  Emil worked for over 35 years holding varying Plant Engineer and Maintenance Manager roles.

Emil was married to Anne Nethercott for 38 years with whom he shared three children. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years Ewa Sokolowska Ravenda of Bethel, CT., his children Matthew Ravenda and his wife Diane of Woodbury, CT., Mary Mercer and her husband Joseph of New Milford, CT., and Eileen Berglund and her husband Kurt of Watertown, CT., step children Artur Godlewski and partner Meghan Holmes of Danbury, CT., and Marta and Adam.  Grandchildren Anne Mercer and her husband Matthew Curley, Jaclyn Mercer and her partner Larry Pang, and Teagan Coughlin.

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. May he rest in peace. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00AM on Friday May 16, 2025 at Our Lady of Mercy Church 260 Westchester Avenue Port Chester, NY.   Interment will follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook,
