Genoveffa Alonzi, 100, a longtime resident of Port Chester died December 20, 2023 at home with her family by her side. She was born October 19, 1923 in Picinisco, Italy to the late Michael and Teresa Cervi DeMarco. She was raised and educated in Italy and immigrated to the United States at the age of 31. Mrs. Alonzi was the widow of Fiorino Alonzi who died in 1998. She was a dressmaker for Kaychester Dress Company in Port Chester, NY. Mrs. Alonzi was a parishioner of the Corpus Christi Church in Port Chester and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her children Christina DeMarco of Pearl River, NY., Joseph Alonzi and his wife Judith of New Fairfield, CT. and Robert Alonzi and his wife Kim of Greenwich, Ct., brother Armando DeMarco of Rye Brook, NY., grandchildren Christopher Alonzi, Amy DeLaurentis, Allison Taylor, Amanda Giacquinta, Robert Alonzi, Jennifer Alonzi, Dana Alonzi, Cassie Storrer, Stephanie DeMarco-Weber and Gregory DeMarco and 13 great grandchildren.
Besides her husband she was predeceased by her grandson Daniel DeMarco and brothers Gerardo DeMarco and Louis DeMarco.
Visitation will be 9:00am-10:30AM on Friday December 29, 2023 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. 40 Leicester St. Port Chester, NY
Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11AM at Parish of Saint John Bosco (Corpus Christi) 136 South Regent St. Port Chester, NY. Entombment to follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook, NY
In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Don Bosco Center Food Pantry Midland Ave. Port Chester, NY or to the Saint Jude's Children's research Hospital Memphis, TN
