George T. Collamore, 86 a lifelong resident of Port Chester died September 12, 2024. He was born April 13, 1938 in Port Chester to the late Lawrence and Mary Riker Collamore. He was raised and educated in Port Chester graduating from Our Lady of Mercy Grammar School and Port Chester High School in 1955. George served overseas in the United States Army from 1955 to 1958. He was married on November 11, 1961 to Maryann Tartaglia at Corpus Christi Church in Port Chester, NY. George was a letter carrier for 29 years for the Port Chester United States Postal Service and retired in 2006. He was an avid reader and loved sports and was a devoted New York Yankees fan. His interests and knowledge of a variety of subjects was as diverse as they were deep and he loved to engage in discussing them.
George is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Maryann Collamore of Port Chester, NY and his devoted children Stephen Collamore Sr, and his wife Eileen of New City, NY and Sharon Hale of Watertown, MA. George was especially proud of his 3 grandchildren Stephen Collamore, Jr., Caitlin Collamore and Daniel Collamore. He is also survived by a large and devoted family of sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Lawrence S. Collamore.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30AM on September 20, 2024 at Parish of Saint John Bosco (Our Lady of Mercy Church) 260 Westchester Ave. Port Chester, NY. Entombment to follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook, NY.
