George P. Marshall, 82, a lifelong resident of Port Chester, passed away peacefully at his home on April 8, 2025. He was the son of the late Roy and Mildred Parsons Marshall.
He was predeceased by his wife of almost 60 years, Theresa Brady Marshall, his high school sweetheart, who died February 1, 2025. He is survived by his children, Sean Marshall and Kathleen “Katie” Marshall; his grandchildren Kyle Marshall and Brianna Lewis; his brothers- and sisters-in law, Agnes (Gerald) Orr, Marie (Henry) Gower, and
Brian (Anne) Brady, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was known for his many hobbies and interests, especially as an avid gardener, a meticulous builder of dollhouses and model boats, a fisherman, and a collector of model cars, trucks, and fire trucks. A deeply religious man, he served for many years as a Eucharistic Minister and lector as a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church in Port Chester, giving of his time to visit the sick and homebound, bringing them communion weekly.
A graduate of Port Chester High School, he was an electrician and a member of Local Union No. 3 IBEW. He was a volunteer fireman with Washington Engine & Hose Company #4 in Port Chester for 62 years, serving several years as the chaplain for the Port Chester Fire Department.
His children and grandchildren will remember him as the best dad and grandpa, who supported them, listening and offering advice whenever it was needed.
Visitation will be 2-6 PM on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM on Monday, April 14, 2025 at the Parish of St. John Bosco (Our Lady of Mercy), 260 Westchester Ave. Port Chester. Entombment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Rye Brook, NY.
