Gil Bolivar Merino, 81, a resident of Ridgefield, Connecticut, and formerly of Port Chester, New York, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on December 26, 2025. He was born on June 23, 1944, in Chanchán, Ecuador.
Gil was the beloved husband of Gladys Merino, whom he married on March 26, 1968. Together they shared many years of devotion, family, and faith.
Mr. Merino was a retired steward at Doral Arrowwood in Purchase, New York. He was also a longtime parishioner of Holy Rosary Church in Port Chester, where his faith was an important part of his life.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Gladys Merino; his cherished daughters, Marieclaire Merino and Gladys Merino D’Entrone, and her husband Frank; and his beloved grandsons, Christopher and Alexander D’Entrone.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son Bolivar Jhovany Merino.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 260 Westchester Avenue, Port Chester, New York. Interment will follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery, North Street, Rye, New York.
There will be no visitation.
