Giuseppe Demasi, of Rye Brook, NY passed away peacefully on November 1, 2019 at the age of 86. Born in Oppido Mamertina, Reggio Calabria, Italy on March 12, 1933 to Luigi and Annamaria (Mamone) Demasi, he lived in Milan and France before immigrating to the United States in 1966. He married Elena Rizzo in 1968 and worked at Arnold’s Bakery in Greenwich, CT until retirement in 1995. He loved to spend time with family and friends and was especially delighted by his grandsons, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
He is survived by his wife Elena; brother Michele (Concetta) Demasi of Port Chester; brother Francesco (Annunziata) Demasi of Oppido Mamertina; daughter Anna Maria (David) Lankes of South Carolina; son Joseph (Teresa) Demasi of Massachusetts; grandsons Riley Lankes, Andrew Lankes, Thomas Demasi, and Samuel Demasi; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Luigi and Annamaria, his sister Maria Bagnato, and his brothers Domenico Demasi and Rocco Demasi.
Visitation will be held at the Craft Memorial Home on Tuesday November 5 from 4-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Parish of Saint John Bosco (Corpus Christi) in Port Chester, NY on Wednesday November 6, at 10 am. Entombment will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Rye Brook, NY.
