Hazel Belinda Williams
June 27, 1950 – November 8, 2025
Hazel Belinda Williams, age 75, of Port Chester, New York, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025.
Born in Warrenton, North Carolina, Hazel was the beloved daughter of the late Herbert and Williemena Green West. She was raised in Brooklyn, New York, where she received her education and developed the strong values and warm spirit that would define her life.
On June 30, 1972, Hazel married the love of her life, Daniel Williams. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership until Daniel’s passing on March 24, 2023. Hazel was preceded in death by her dear son, Desha Williams, whose memory she carried in her heart every day.
Hazel dedicated many years of service to the United States Postal Service, retiring from the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina Post Office. Her work ethic, kindness, and reliability left a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike.
Hazel was a loving woman who gave her all for her family unselfishly in countless ways.
Through her final months, her resilience and strength were magnified by her daily fight to stay alive. Her courage and determination were a source of inspiration to all who witnessed her journey.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Danielle Williams of Lawrenceville, Georgia; her cherished grandson, Nygee Williams Mitchell; and her beloved granddaughter, Tehya Ruiz. Hazel also leaves behind her loving siblings: brothers Herbert West of Columbia, Maryland, and Charles West of New York City, New York; and sisters Mary Dillahunt (Rev. Frank Dillahunt) of Henderson, North Carolina, Delilah West of Mount Vernon, New York, Hermenia West of Port Chester, New York, and Undine Raye (Ronald) of Port Chester, New York.
In addition to her immediate family, Hazel is lovingly remembered by a host of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many close friends whose lives were enriched by her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love.
