Hilary Marian Janeczko, 90, was born December 18, 1929 in Laskowice, Poland. On Easter Sunday, April 12th, 2020, he passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home, in Port Chester, New York. Hilary grew up in a difficult time in Poland during WWII having spent time in a child work camp. However, with faith and love for his family, he persevered. In 1963, Hilary moved to the United States with his family for a better life. He was active in the Polish community and devoted to his Church.
He is survived by his wife, Halina Janeczko, his two children, Halina E. Menifield and Bernard Janeczko (Jean Brooks); four granddaughters Amanda M. Menifield (Jimmie Ricks), Amber M. Menifield, Katie Janeczko, and Eileen Kemp (Christopher Kemp); three great-grandchildren, Aleksander Ricks, Everett Kemp, Jaxson Ricks; his sister Teodozja Presto and many nieces and nephews.
We are grateful to the service providers that have helped care for Hilary these last few weeks. In lieu of flowers, we encourage donations to Visiting Nurse Service in Westchester.
