Ida DiPalma, 96, a lifelong resident of Port Chester died July 5, 2023. She was born May 25, 1927 in Port Chester to the late Frank and Frances Luchetta Baratta. She was raised and educated in Port Chester graduating from Port Chester High School in 1945. During World War II She worked for a company in Port Chester that manufactured parachutes for the troops. Ida was a devoted parishioner of the Corpus Christi Church in Port Chester and enjoyed attending and playing bingo at the Port Chester Senior Center. She loved cooking and baking for her family especially during the holidays and taking trips to Atlantic City with her sisters. Ida was an avid reader of romance novels and loved to watch sports and was especially fond of the New York Yankees.
She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and is survived by her two sons, Robert DiPalma and Steven DiPalma, grandchildren James, Noelle, Michael and Alyssa and great grandchildren Zoe, Sophia, Emma, Nina and Dylan and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter Elaine Lacerenza (Jim), other family members that predeceased her are Vera Protano, Vincent Baratta, Linda Dest, Yolanda Imbrogno and Victoria Lauro.
The family wishes to thank her home health aide Barbara Morrison for her loving care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM on Wednesday July 12, 2023 at Parish of Saint John Bosco (Corpus Christi Church) 136 South Regent St. Port Chester, NY. Interment to follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook, NY
