Joan Pizzarello Obituary

Joan A. Bromley Pizzarello, 84, a longtime resident of Port Chester died January 15, 2021. She was born January 25, 1936 in Yonkers to the late Edward and Mary Smith Bromley. She graduated from White Plains High School and the Wayne Beauty School in White Plains, NY.  Joan was married April 21, 1957 to Dominick Pizzarello who was the love of her life.  Mr. Pizzarello died September 17, 2014.

Joan was a hairdresser in White Plains, NY and later employed by Avon Products in Rye, NY. Her most rewarding career was being a childcare professional for a private family in Rye, NY and for Concepts International in Harrison, NY. She retired at the age of 62 so she could help take care of her grandchildren whom she adored and was extremely devoted.

Joan loved to decorate her home for all the holidays and make traditional feasts for the family to enjoy. Her hobbies were baking, crocheting and doing kind gestures for anyone who was in need.

Joan was a devote parishioner of the Holy Rosary Church in Port Chester, she was also a member of the Circle of Love Prayer Group for 25 years, past member of the St. Ann Sodality, member of the Port Chester Senior Center, Red Bell-Red Hat Society and the Port Chester Senior Choir.  She was the beloved mother of her children Dominick Pizzarello, Jr. and his wife Angela of Yorktown Heights, NY., Mary Romanello and her husband Daniel of Port Chester, NY., and Joan Russo and her husband Anthony of Port Chester, NY.,  She was predeceased by her daughter Diane Murchison. Her grandchildren Toby Murchison, Josh Murchison, Joseph Murchison, Amanda Romanello, Daniel Romanello, Joseph Russo, Michael Russo, Brooke Pizzarello and Dominick Pizzarello, III and 8 great grandchildren.  Also surviving are her sisters Teresa Rafferty, Eileen Jackson and Angela Scaparelli.  Besides her husband and daughter, she was predeceased by her brother Edward Bromley and sister Mary Doran.

Visitation will be 4-8PM on Monday January 18, 2021 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10AM on Tuesday January 19, 2021 at Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church 84 Sherwood Ave. Greenwich, Ct. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook, NY. Memorial donations in Memory of Mrs. Pizzarello may be made to Saint Jude's Children's' Research Hospital Memphis, TN.
