John P. Boccarossa passed away on Wednesday, December 17th at his home in Port Chester, NY.
John’s parents were Cesidio & Agnes (Cerone) Boccarossa. He was one of five children. John is predeceased by his sister’s Carmella & Rose and his brother Michael. He is also predeceased by his son Daniel. John is survived by his sister Antoinette Berkeley and many nieces and nephews.
John was a decorated veteran of the Korean War. Proudly serving his country from 1951-1954. He retired from the military at the rank of Technical Corporal. His honors include the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Metal and the National Defense Service Medal. He was a part of the Sixth Armored Division out of Ft. Leonard Wood, MO and the 822th Engineer Aviation Battalion.
John was employed by J. Delfino & Sons Inc, Port Chester, NY. He was a salesman his whole life with Delfino and knew every restaurant, diner, deli and supermarket in the area.
John had a phenomenal memory and could entertain for hours with stories of the old days – growing up in Port Chester, his time in Korea, the years he spent in Florida or just a great story about a friend or loved one.
