John M. Kiyak, 69, a resident of Brewster and formerly of Port Chester passed away unexpectedly January 18, 2019. He was born June 6, 1949 in Port Chester to the late John and Eileen Sava Kiyak. John was a graduate of Our Lady of Mercy Grammar School in Port Chester, Stepinac High School in White Plains, and University of Dayton with a degree in business. He was the owner of Port Chester Rug and Linoleum that his parents founded on 220 Westchester Ave seventy years ago, the business moved to Bowman Ave and then to its current location on Putnam Ave. He served in the United States Army. John was a member and past president of Port Chester Rotary Club, past board of director of the Our Lady of Mercy CYP and was active with The Food to Grow On Program at All Souls Parish in Port Chester. He was an avid golfer, traveler and cyclist. John is survived by his devoted son John R. Kiyak and his wife Jennifer and his cherished twin grandsons Sean and Alex all of White Plains, His loving partner and best friend Laura Roth-Marino and her son Tyler Paul Marino of Brewster, his dear sisters Kathianne Robins-Stern and husband Dennis of Darien, Ct. and Suzanne McCarthy and husband Patrick of Kirkville, NY, 5 nieces and nephews Michael Yusko, Matthew Robins, Courtney Radosavljevic, A.J. McCarthy and Gillianne McCarthy.
Visitation will be 4-8PM on Wednesday January 23, 2019 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Mass of Christian Burial will 10AM on Thursday January 24, 2019 at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church 84 Sherwood Ave. Greenwich, CT. Committal service will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery Hartsdale, NY. At the request of John in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital Memphis, TN or Food to Grow On P.O. Box 26 Port Chester, NY 10573
