John J O'Connell

John J. O'Connell, 71 a resident of New York City and formerly of Rye and Port Chester, NY died May 22, 2018. He was born February 16, 1947 in Port Chester to the late Richard X. O'Connell and Anna McLaughlin O'Connell. He was raised and educated in Port Chester graduating from Our Lady of Mercy Grammar School and Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains. He went on to graduate from Fordham University and Fordham School of Law. Mr. O'Connell was a retired attorney. He is survived by his sons Michael A. O'Connell and his wife Alison of Somerville, MA and Daniel E. O'Connell of the Bronx, NY and grandson Colm O'Connell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30AM on Friday May 25, 2018 at Our Lady of Mercy Church 260 Westchester Ave. Port Chester, NY. Interment to follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook, NY. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Mr. O'Connell may be made to Caritas of Port Chester 19 Smith St. Port Chester, NY 10573 www.caritaspc.org
