John R. "Jack" McLaughlin Obituary


John R. "Jack" McLaughlin, 81, a resident of Port Chester passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 13, 2022. He was born December 6, 1940 in Buffalo, NY to the late John and Ruth McLaughlin.

Jack was raised and educated in Buffalo, NY having graduated from Bishop Timon High School in 1958. He received his Bachelor of Science in Education with the State University of NY College of Buffalo followed by his Master of Science in Education at The City University of NY. He also received many accreditations from Florida Institute of Technology and was a member of The MENSA Organization, the high IQ society.

Jack was a retired teacher for both Horton School & Port Chester Public Schools having taught many years at Park Avenue Elementary School. He was also a certified volleyball official with the New York State Certified Volleyball Officials' Organization as well as Westchester County Parks & Recreation. 

He was married to Barbara Santucci on March 30, 1996 at Saint Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rye Brook, NY. 

Jack was a generous, loving person adored by many but loved deeply by his family.  

He is survived by his devoted and cherished wife Barbara McLaughlin of Port Chester, NY., his beloved step daughters Jessica Martello and her husband David of Greenwich, CT., and Steffany O'Neill and her husband Michael of Rye Brook, NY., adored grandchildren Madison, Lucas & Charlotte Martello, Holly, Michael "MJ" and Eloise O'Neill, brother Terrence McLaughlin and his wife Lori of Oregon, sisters Kathleen Puntillo and her husband Richard of California and Colleen Sawara and her husband Rudy of California. He was predeceased by his brother Michael McLaughlin. Jack is also survived by children from a previous marriage Karen, Colleen, Sharon and Susan.

A private service was held to honor Jack.
