Joseph Bellofatto Obituary

Joseph W. Bellofatto, 58, a resident of Hillsdale, NY and formerly of Port Chester, NY passed away on April 7, 2023. He was born August 2, 1964 in Port Chester, NY to Joseph and Emilia Bellofatto. He was raised and educated in Port Chester graduating from Port Chester High School in 1983 and went onto graduate from Columbia Green Community College in Catskill, NY.  Joe was the owner and operator of a car service in Hillsdale, NY.  He was a member of the Fire Patrol & Rescue Co. #1 of the Port Chester Volunteer Fire Department for 29 years.  He was proud to be serving his community and he enjoyed bringing his young nephew to the firehouse to see the trucks when everyone was in town.

Joe is survived by his life partner Pam Piper of Hillsdale, NY, his parents Joseph and Emilia Bellofatto of Port Chester, NY, brother Michael Bellofatto and his wife Carmen and sons Mason and Beckett of San Diego, CA, and sister Mary Bellofatto of Greenwich, CT.  Joe adored his nieces and nephews from the Piper Family:  Matthew, Joshua (Gabby), Alexa (Matt), Ricky (Alex), Jeana (Drew), Anna (Connor), Ronald (MacKenzie), and Stephen.  Joe was very close with his father-in-law Ron, who he fondly called “Chief” along with sisters and brothers-in-law, Ron (Chrissy), Bobby (Brenda), Ricky (Debbie).

Joe was an avid sports fan and he loved the Knicks, Miami Dolphins, and Yankees.  He also coached youth basketball and managed a men’s softball team while he lived in Port Chester.  It was through his love of softball that he made a lifetime of friends.  Joe loved spending time with family and was happiest when he could cook a delicious meal, make others laugh, or help them in any way.  Joe never thought twice about spending four hours in the car to be at family birthday celebrations or holiday dinners.  Joe had many dear friends who were very important to him.  As the saying goes, “There are friends, there is family, and then there are friends that become family.” There isn’t anything Joe wouldn’t do to help others. Our hearts are broken and our lives will be never be the same.  Joe will be forever missed by all of us.
